Dr. Patricia Lechten


Dr. Lechten earned her Bachelor of Science – Honours Agriculture, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. She then practised in Las Vegas for three years and in Toronto for one year. Dr. Lechten came to Allandale in October, 1989. Several years after that she became sole owner of the Small Animal practice. Dr. Lechten has demonstrated her keen interest in all companion animals but has a special interest in canine reproduction. You can find Dr. Lechten as a guest speaker when time allows on the show "Animal House Calls" on CP24 (city tv).



In February of 2009, Dr. Lechten took Lisa and Anita; travelled to Ocho Rios Jamiaca to volunteer spaying dogs and giving medical attention to abandoned animals of The Animal House.
Dr. Lechten shares her home with cats Cosmo, Ringo, a Border Terrier named Henry, Holly - yes another border terrier and Clementine the Basset Hound! She also enjoys reading, travelling and baking. The staff especially enjoys her banana chocolate chip muffins.

Dr. Neilan graduated from OVC, Guelph, in 1996 and came to work at Allandale in May of that same year. He enjoys the variety of things he encounters each day. Dr. Neilan lives in Barrie with his wife, Diane, and their daughters Katelynn and Samantha! (Dr. Neilan has photos at the ready.) The family pets are Maggie and Diego, and Maddie the border terrier. Dr. Neilan enjoys coaching his daughters soccer teams, basketball, hiking, reading and cheering for England's soccer teams and taking family trips!

Dr. Anne Paquette grew up in Sudbury, Ontario, and graduated from Laurentian University with a BA in geography, with aspiriations of becoming a lawyer. Goals changed when Dr. Paquette acquired her dog and veterinary medicine became her primary interest.
Dr. Paquette graduated from OVC in Guelph in the spring of 2002 and came to Allandale at that time. She has two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels: Finnigan, Rufus. In her free time Dr. Paquette enjoys spending time with her family-her husband Rob and their children Parker and Grace! Dr. Paquette has found a new love- cake decorating. Dr. Paquette enjoys baking and decorating cakes for the staff! Yum Yum!

Dr. Janyk Laferriere was born and raised in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. She attended the university of Guelph where she earned a BSc. degree in 2003. In 2006 she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. Returning home she practiced as a mixed animal veterinarian. She found her niche of small animal medicine and decided to strictly focus on it. Dr. Laferriere joined the veterinary team here at Allandale in June 2007.She is fluent in both French and English and would be happy to provide veterinary care in either language! She resides outside of Barrie with her husband Shawn, their lovebird "Oscar" and their cat "Andie". In her spare time Dr. Laferriere enjoys reading, gardening, scrapbooking and playing the piano. Dr. Laferriere is currently on maternity leave taking care of little Lauren who was born Novemeber 2010. We expect Dr. Laferriere back in late fall of 2011.

Dr. Lindsey Rogers is a new addition to our veterinary team but may not be a new face to some. Dr. Rogers spent last summer with us learning as much as she could as a veterinary student and is now back as one of our part time veterinarians. She is the recipient of Andrew Smith Memorial Award (top honors of graduating class 2011), F.W. Schofeild Prize in Pathology, and the Summit Pharmaceutical Prize in Clinical Pathology.
Dr. Rogers has a keen interest in Small Animal Rehabilitation and hopes to pursue a specialty in that department in the near future. She attended the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida in November learning all about Canine Rehabilitation. She is excited to be a member of our team and looks forward to caring for your furry friends.
